Robert Harris

Robert Harris is a commercial litigator and corporate attorney. Bob’s commercial litigation practice is diverse, encompassing a wide array of complex areas such as employment law, corporate disputes, contract and tort litigation, defamation, products liability, real estate litigation, intellectual property matters, administrative law, probate and appellate practice. Through the course of his practice, Bob has gained extensive experience in a variety of legal specialties such as, for example, employment law and corporate shareholder disputes. As to employment law, in addition to litigating discrimination claims, Bob has extensive experience litigating issues concerning non-competition agreements, confidentiality agreements, and trade secrets, as well as drafting non-competition and confidentiality agreements and advising corporations as to the effect of such agreements. As to corporate shareholder disputes, Bob has litigated disputes between shareholders in closed corporations regarding interpretations of shareholders agreements, breach of fiduciary duty and corporate waste of assets.

Bob’s commercial litigation practice spans both federal and state matters. He is a member of the Florida Bar, as well as the bars of the United States District Courts for the Southern District and Middle District of Florida., and the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals

Bob’s corporate practice involves incorporating companies, handling corporate acquisitons, drafting corporate agreements, and providing advice as to various corporate issues from a “litigator’s perspective.” Further, Bob has extensive experience with the various laws regarding charitable organizations and commercial co-venturers.

Bob received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in 1986. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree with Honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1989, where he was Executive Editor of the University of Miami Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif. He is the author of The Impeachment exception to Rule 407: Limitations on the Introduction of Evidence of Subsequent Measures, 42 U. Miami L. Rev. 901 (1988).

Bob and his wife, Meghan, both natives of Miami, live in South Miami with their daughters, Natalie and Madeleine.
